Packet-sniffing techie uncovers spousal infidelity

Technology has been instrumental in ending yet another long-standing relationship. Hot on the heels of tales of a woman who blames (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/03/23/firefox_bug_engagement_split_rumpus/) a bug in Firefox for exposing the flaws in her relationship with a fiancé and a man whose relationship was hit (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/03/24/thunderbird_relationship_break-up) by the spam filtering shortcomings of Thunderbird, comes the story of a software programmer who unearthed evidence of his partner’s infidelity using Ethereal, the packet sniffing software.
Len Holgate usually writes about Windows software development and programming in C++. But in a break from the norm he recently wrote about how he installed (with some difficulty) a packet sniffer on his network after becoming suspicious that Michelle, his partner of 17 years, was cheating on him.
“The sniffer provided me with evidence that Michelle had been having an affair since mid-January. I confronted her and we decided to try and see if we could ‘work it out’ during our ski trip to Colorado. During the trip I decided that the relationship couldn’t continue and so on our return she moved out. We’re currently doing the separation of assets thing. We hope to be able to remain friends. Since I don’t hate her, I figure that nobody else is allowed to,” Len writes (http://www.lenholgate.com/archives/000638.html).
The coder offers the following sage advice to the less technically adept: “If you plan to use technology when cheating it’s probably best to understand the technology involved better than the person that you’re cheating on,” he adds.

Conquer Online was advertised on billboards in LA area. It is 2D based game. It is placed in ancient China too. But 2D is now old and this game should be buried.

Exteel is an adaptation of Gundam/Robotech theme. You build and fight with a mechanaught. It lovingly recreated the comic feel and well executed the game. It is Death Match type shoot-em up games with up to 32 players.
Exteel is created by NCSoft. It is very fast paced and very entertaining.

You don’t have to pay to play on-line anymore. 9Dragons is a 3D MMORPG that has all the bells and whistles. It has months of story for you to nicely waste a year or two on. It is all free.
Game set you back to China when Kung Fu and its clans ruled. If you ever read Kim Yong’s novels(Dragon Kim). You will fit right in with this game. Lovely graphic and ancient China theme is very appealing.

The FBI reported April 18 that it had arrested Lonnie Charles Denison, 32, and charged him with destruction of an energy facility, a violation of the U.S. Code, Section 1366 (b). Denison’s case came to court last Friday, where he pleaded guilty to the charge. Sentencing is set for Feb. 29. The incident occurred April 15 and disabled the data center for two hours. No blackouts occurred because of the interruption, but Jim McIntosh, the agency’s director of grid operations, told investigators that if the outage had happened in the morning, the “results would have been far more severe.” The criminal complaint added that electric consumers in the western United States would have experienced disruption in their electrical supply. The incident occurred on a Sunday night when demand for electricity was low, and the data center, which powers trading to maintain the California power supply, wasn’t needed to maintain supplies around the state. Denison had been engaged in a dispute with his employer and had lost system access privileges when he took the action against the data center’s power supply. He was tracked down via a review of security camera film and through an e-mail he sent to a co-worker the next day that was interpreted as containing a bomb threat, according to investigators. “Hey, at one point I respected you … you have a new kid. So this is only because of him. Get out before the timer expires. Not long now. Take care,” he wrote in the message, according to reports in the Sacramento Bee and San Francisco Chronicle. The message resulted in the data center being evacuated from noon to about 6 p.m. April 16. Denison was working as an employee of Science Application International Corp. in San Diego, a firm that supplies contract workers to the ISO Corp. The ISO “brokers power distribution to the grid” and tells member suppliers how much of their power has been consumed on the grid, said Carlo Tiu, senor systems analyst with Northern California Power Agency, a member of the grid, while attending Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco in November. In addition to buying power to meet demand, the ISO also schedules supplies coming from such sources as the city of Palo Alto, which runs an electrical generating plant, the city of Santa Clara and the city of Alameda, as well as the Port of Oakland, Tiu said in an interview. Data center operations were switched to a back-up site during the outage, and 20 data center staffers brought the downed site back on line at a cost to ISO of $14,000, according to the criminal complaint. Denison faces a fine of up to $250,000 and up to five years in jail. |

It is a funny day in Korea. For me to write anything about it is funnier. It is hilarious who will end up being the president of Korea. It’s all a comedy and progressive movement is totally fucked up and blind. I guess that is the definition of an idiot.
In Korea, there are about 40% hard-core ultra conservations. These are greedy bastards who only fights for their interest. They are intellectuals, leaders and anyone important. Then there are 10-20% progressive who managed to survive and oddly thrieve in recent years. Rest do not care and don’t want to know and will follow anyone that give them a bowl of noodle.
Lee Myoung Bak is the conservative leader who will be the president. He hired key people from dominant newspaper for his camp. That’s basically buying media. These newspaper bashed the current progressive president and bashed all progressive movement. Now they got a post in Lee’s soon-t0-be administration. You figure. They been masterbating each other.
Lee Myoung Bak has his presence in LA. He created BBK with a local comedians here. BBK was suppose to be investment management company that takes your million and make it two or three. Only problem is that it was from the start not an investment company but a fraud. FROM THE START. Some rich Korean for some reason gave money to BBK when BBK was really not even a real company nor had smart people who know investing. Lee started it and when it was found that it was a fruad and BBK president ran off to Korea. Lee denied everything. He has no association with it. A Video surfaced of him saying that he started it.
But that crook will be president. Media successfully managed to fuck up the image of President Noh. He only issue at hand that he is helpless with is the employment issues. Young college graduates are lost without jobs. That is a bad situation but other than that Korea is stronger and most democratic nation now in Asia. But Media successfully discredit any achievement and they got a job with Lee Myoung Bak. Real fucked up situation is that Korean Justice system announced Lee from free of any wrong doing. Oh my God. That’s funniest things I heard. These fugger are all over the governement and they sucessfully extend their power whenever needed in support of their own greed.
Funny thing is that it’s not Lee who successfully got elected. It was progressive movement that sucessfully got its ass creamed. It managed to isolate President Noh and It managed to split a part from each other. In a country where there are 40% hard assed conservative who will cuss at any progressive movemen, progressive has to stick together and help each other and make other look good. Well, opposite happened. Dumb fucking ass. They have to be named and it has to be a what not to do case study. They successfully dismantle all the progressive monement for last some decades by bickering.
Now crook will be president. I actually like Lee Myoung Bak has a person. He is a self-made man. I believe he wants honor and prestige more than money as president which hopefully means he won’t rape the poor fucking country. But he is not a one man. He got the whole neo-fascist conservative group on his back. If he doesn’t do it, his group will. These are the people who will blackmail companies and extort millions for their own use.
President Noh was good for what he didn’t do. Is Korea going back to corrupt 80s? I think so, conservatives are hungry and they are more crooked and they have a whole list of people to fuck with now. There will be some honest people who will get fucked finally after few years of serenity.
These bastards walk into a company and say give us how many million and we won’t fuck you. These are thugs. Smart, educated, powerful thugs. Now you know how I feel about Mr. Lee. I will now shut up because he will be president tomorrow and I am sure if they try hard they can take away my US Citizenship and put me in jail in Korea.
Sad day. Not because of Mr. Lee. But because progressive fucked each other good. Idiots.

There are aspects of my experience in Louisville that I will never understand. Deep down I suspect that you may have more answers about this than I do. I can never shake my belief that I was being recruited, and later persecuted, by forces more powerful than I could have imagined. Whether it was the CIA or some other organization I will never know. As long as I am alive, these forces will never stop hounding me.
Days before I left for Louisville I had a deep foreboding about my safety. I sensed suddenly threats to my own life: an eerie feeling that I was being followed in the streets, the white van parked outside my house, damaged mail arriving at my P.O. Box. I believe my detention at Norton Hospital was the government’s attempt to discredit me.
I had considered running away, but I will never be able to escape from myself and my thoughts. I am doing this because I am too weak to withstand the years of pain and agony ahead.[13]
